Zaragoza vs Barcelona: Lionel Messi To Extend Gap In La Liga Top Scoring Chart?
115 views 19 March 2010
Lionel Messi has been the best goal scorer lately from Spain, scoring 7 good goals in his last 3 matches. Messi scored 2 goals against Almeria two weeks ago as Barcelona drew 2-2.
He made a hat-trick against Valencia, and just Wednesday, Lionel Messi scored 2 more goals, this time around in the UEFA Champions League against Stuttgart.
This weekend, Messi joins Barcelona as they travel away to the Estadio La Romareda to play against Real Zaragoza.
Lionel Messi is currently the top scorer with 22 goals in La Liga top scoring chart in 23 appearances, and a goal against Zaragoza would send him even further in the standings, as he looks to widen the gap between him and his strong contenders David Villa and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barcelona are second in La Liga table on goal difference behind Real Madrid, but partly, the Catalans will be relying on Lionel Messi to steal them three points this weekend against Zaragoza to keep the pressure on their archrivals, if ever they do not surpass them.
