The Barcelona players Xavi Hernandez and Pedro were on the scoring sheet yesterday in the Spanish Super Cup, as the Spanish Champions came from a goal down to win the first leg encounter 2-1 against Atletico Bilbao.

Bojan, Xavi, and Henry all came close to scoring before the 40th minute of the game, but eventually, it was the Basques who seemed to be the most favored in the first half. A late deflected strike from a Bilbao attacker gave Bilbao something to hang on to in the 45th minute.

The game was not over yet, and like we know, Barcelona are always the team with the surprise package.

A few moments to the hour mark, Pedro fed Xavi Hernandez with a decent ball only for the Spanish international to score the opener.

Later on, it was Pedro’s turn to get a goal, and he did no mistake… His brilliant shot from long range gave the Catalans a 2-1 advantage in the first leg.

In the end, even without the likes of Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, Barcelona were still able to take their chances over Bilbao in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.

The Spanish Super Cup second leg match will take place on August 23.
