Pictures : Lionel Messi vs Real Madrid Copa Clasico Second Leg (25 January 2012)
Barcelona saves a spot in Copa del Rey semi-final after a tie result with Real Madrid last night.
Lead with 2 goals in the first half, Barcelona was flying high and started the second leg carelessly. On the contrary, Real Madrid appeared stronger in the second half, right after Mourinho entered Callejon and Benzema in minute 60th. The 2 substitute players were quickly set unstoppable fast manouver that made Barca players seemed miserable in their homeground. The result, in less than 10 minutes, Ronaldo scored the first goal for Real Madrid, (Ramos goal earlier was unfairly disallowed by ref) and 4 minutes later Benzema doubled the point. Even Mourinho didn’t expect that to happen so fast.
The victory seemed to be closer, as Benzema kept attacking and gave a hard time for Pinto. Unfortunately, the ref seemed to be taken his side on the host. He was being unfair by not giving Benzema a penalty kick after being dropped by Puyol in the penalty area. Puyol grabbed Benzema shirt, and pulled him down, that led him fall to the ground and hurt both his hand and leg. Yet the ref had nothing to say about the incident.
And just when Real Madrid was at their peak with only 5 minutes left, the ref rewarded Ramos with the second yellow card. The decision was controversial, since it was clear that Ramos won a save and clean challenge with Busquets, as it shown on the replay video. Not wanting to waste any time, Ramos left the field in hurry, hoping that the last minute was enough to score the last goal. But until the whistle blew, no goal from both side, and Barcelona won with score aggregate of 4-3.
