News and Pictures : Lionel Messi Failed Mission – Venezuela 1- 0 Argentina (11 October 2011)

Apparently it wasn’t a lucky day for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.  The 2 national team’s captain had to swallow their pride as their team failed to gain victory.

Back to the match, Argentina surprised the fans when they lost 1-0 in away match against Venezuela, in the WC 2014 qualification match.

Lionel Messi and the team appeared unstable, while the host played more confident infront of their fans. That showed in Venezuela’s solid defense, that frustrate Tango team throughout the first half.

Gonzalo Higuain, who scored a hat-trick in earlier match against Chile, failed to show an impressive performance. Even in the second half, Argentina team couldn’t do much as Venezuela keep on pressuring. In result, the host managed to score in minute 61st through Fernando Amorebieta.

The score remain the same until the game ended.

With the result, Venezuela recorded their first victory over Argentina in history.

After the match, striker Lionel Messi admitted his surprise on getting defeat by Venezuela. But still, the Barcelona player praised his opponent for their discipline performance.

And now, Argentina stuck in second place below Uruguay who collect 4 points, while Venezuela moved to 7th rank after collecting 3 points.
