The Argentina coach Diego Maradona was recently speaking to Ole about his number wonder kid, and his words were none other than huge praises for his playmaker Lionel Messi, as he poured out his admiration for the Barcelona number 10 forward.

“Messi is my Maradona,” he said.

“There is no other player as important as him, and I want him to always have the ball because he knows what to do.”

Unsurprisingly, Lionel Messi himself was very happy to hear his mentor say this about him, and he also expressed his joy over the Argentina coach’s statement.

“I am proud and staying calm… I am very happy.

“All the time he tells me to take the ball… to play, and not to lose my style that I show for Barcelona.”

Messi and Maradona will both meet when Argentina faces Brazil in their South American World Cup Qualifiers early in September.
