Lionel Messi wins the UEFA Club Player of the Year Award in Monaco

Manchester United’s Van der Sar, Chelsea’s John Terry, and Barcelona’s Xavi Hernandez all received UEFA Club awards according to their positions on the field, but of course, none of them could beat the new UEFA Club Forward of the Year Lionel Messi, to win the UEFA Club Player of the Year award.

Lionel Messi first beat Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Inter Milan’s Samuel Eto’o, before winning the UEFA Club Forward of the Year. Messi then joined the final draws for upcoming Group Stage matches of the UEFA Champions League, and returned to his seat.

Then came the big moment everyone was awaiting, when the name of the chosen UEFA Club Player of the Year was to be mentioned.

Of course, the name could be none other than the name of last Champions League’s top scorer, and Barcelona’s ace: Lionel Messi.

Messi then came to the stage, where he was handed the prestigious award – surely, the greatest award he had ever received in his career.
