Lionel Messi: The 2010 World Cup Trophy Is My Next Target
458 views 25 December 2009
In spite of the stealing of six cups with FC Barcelona this year, as well as the clinching of the FIFA World Player of the Year award, Lionel Messi feels everything is not complete. According to the Argentina star, he could only be truly content with his career after success at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“Now, all I need is the World Cup (in South Africa),” declared Lionel Messi.
“I hope to improve my performance with Argentina (national football team), and I am working hard for it. I really want to be the best, always…”
Messi also won the Ballon d’Or at the beginning of December 2009 ahead of Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo, but Leo is still yet to impress his nation.

@Best Player in the World:
So you think that Messi is the best, that’s why you used to criticize Ronaldo all the time on CRF, huh!
funny!
Messi, don’t say “all I need is the World Cup” as if you had won almost everything in truth. Can’t you remember how referee Thomas Ovrebo cheated for Barcelona in the semis of the 2009 UEFA Champions League. Two clear handballs from Pique and Eto’o went unseen, and bla, bla, bla.. You shouldn’t have bee in Rome, neither in Monaco, nor in Quatar after all, for the UCL final, the European Super Cup, and the FIFA World Club Cup respectively!
And since when you “really want to be the best, always”? I thought you were not ‘obsessed’ by being the best like Ronaldo as you had been saying it all the time. I though you only wanted to give the best out of yourself without thinking of “really” being the best.
Anyway, your fans will understand you, not me.
Messi is the best.
