The game between Barcelona and Chelsea ended up by being a match different from what most fans were expecting. Like the result tells us, no goals were produced in the game, and this is something very strange for an encounter involving the likes of players such as Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto’o, Thierry Henry, Lampard or Drogba…

Well, the most disturbing part for Barcelona fans is that the Catalans have now failed to take the home advantage in the game. Certainly, the players were struggling with time and strength, as their opponents this coming-weekend happen to be Real Madrid.

Indeed, this could be a possible reason, and looking at Lionel Messi’s performance on the night, it was obvious that the man was going under a hard time. In fact, it didn’t took all of Chelsea’s energy at the back to stop him from being aggressive – on the contrary, Messi himself was under bad shape.

The Barcelona winger is normally renounced for his amazing dribbling skills and power on the pitch, however, yesterday night, it was a different story. Most of Messi’s touches didn’t result in anything wonderful, and his attempts on goal were just horrific.

Messi looked weak and seemed to have loosen control of his performance, thus, most fan felt that fire was missing in Barcelona’s front.

One could recall the player’s poor display against Valencia at the weekend, and assume that fatigue was his greatest confronter. Now, the question lies on if fatigue is still his greatest challenger…

The answer is still not clear until now, nevertheless, Messi fans can only hope that their will bounce back from his recent poor form, so as not to start thinking that their star’s great days are already over.
