It was another marvelous moment for Lionel Messi’s fans yesterday in Monaco, as their star beat his contender Cristiano Ronaldo, and former teammate Samuel Eto’o to win the UEFA Club Forward of the Year award.

Lionel Messi was called onto the stage after his name was mentioned, and after a set of handshakes, he was asked to participate in the final draws with the Pot 4, for upcoming Champions League matches in the group stages.

Certainly, Messi had to control his feelings, as the player seemed to be relaxed, rather than excited. In any case, he knew how important this moment was for him and his career, having surpassed the current FIFA Player of the Year in the selection for the UEFA Club Awards.

Well, this event is now over, and the first part of Messi’s dream regarding individual honors has now come true. Leo Messi can now look forward to getting more awards in next award ceremonies at the end this year.

Lionel Messi is now the UEFA Club Forward of the Year!
