Lionel Messi: Barcelona will prevail against Inter Milan

Despite many fans arguing that Barcelona’s ace Lionel Messi will join the Nerazzurri in the near future, Messi didn’t bother to frankly reveal his expectations ahead of the Champions League clash against Inter Milan which will take place later this year at the Camp Nou.

“We will prevail,” Lionel Messi told La Gazzetta dello Sport confidently, talking about FC Barcelona.

“They are a great team and we will need to play our best football. But we can’t afford to slip up. We respect them, but we certainly are not afraid of them.”

Messi referred to his partnership with forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, expressing his joy over his chance to play alongside the Swedish man.

“My partnership with ‘Ibra’ is getting better and better with every game we play,” Lionel added.

“He is a great man on and off the pitch.”

Inter Milan topped the Group F table in the Champions League for the first time after beating Dynamo Kiev. Barcelona are now second following their goalless draw away to Rubin Kazan.
