The FIFA World Player of the Year and Barcelona star Lionel Messi has expressed his fury towards the press and football fans in Argentina.
The Argentine press and fans have been throwing heavy critics on Messi, subsequent to the player’s incapability of reproducing his marvelous deeds at Barcelona when featuring for the Albicelestes.
“I get irritated when they say that I have no feeling for the Albicelestes (Argentina national football team). Nothing angers me more than when I hear I am not Argentine,” said an annoyed Lionel Messi.
“Who knows anything about my feelings?” Messi added.
“The stories of my life took me to FC Barcelona. As a child, I’ve always dreamt of only playing in Argentina, then for the Albicelestes. In fact, nothing in this world gives me more enjoyment.”
“I really like Argentina and living in Catalunya, but I am a true Argentine. It is very difficult to talk about feelings, but how can they dare to come and tell me what I feel? Honestly, I do not mind being called Catalan, but become infuriated when anyone thinks that I am not Argentine.”
Lionel Messi scored Argentina’s only goal in the Albicelestes’ 2-1 defeat to Spain in a friendly, back in November.
