Lionel Messi’s perfect response to Juande Ramos’ comment

These were the words spoken by the Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos, before the El Clasico;
but Real certainly made a mistake, showing their fans determination and courage. During a press conference a few days before the encounter, manager Ramos assured his fans that he would do his best to prevent the Catalans from turning the match an expedition of goals, as they often do.
However, surprisingly, as he explained why he wasn’t afraid of Barcelona and the task that was ahead of him, Ramos didn’t take Messi as his main threat for the clash. Could it be that he was trying to turn the public’s attention to his players? Or perhaps, was he refusing to acknowledge the wonderful skills and achievement of Leo?
In any case, as Barcelona fans were wondering if their side would be able to bounce back from their late unsatisfying form, the Madrid fans were hoping that they side would repeat their highly controversial 4-1 victory that took place a year ago, at the Bernabeu.
With another chance to impose themselves on their rivals, it was up to Barcelona to lift up to their supporters’ expectations.
Certainly, Real Madrid were not surprised to see Iniesta playing in the centre midfield, and Henry as a winger, however, they surely did not anticipate that Messi was going to leave his place as a winger to join Eto’o in the front.
Indeed, Pep might have shocked his opponents; nevertheless, this did not prevent them from taking the lead.
It was then time for Lionel Messi to prove to everyone why he was the only one who could bring down the current Fifa Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lionel Messi kept his calm, so as to make the perfect true ball for Henry to level the score just around 15 minutes of the game. The number 10 forward really had a lot of tactics in the attack, and this time, dribbling was not his only weapon, but true balls were also signs of his intelligence on the pitch.
The 35th minute was the perfect moment for Messi to get his name on the scoring sheet. A nice tackle from Xavi saw the 21-year old playmaker send the ball past Casillas, only to score Barcelona’s third goal of the night.
The second half was no less entertaining for his fans. Leo kept showing pace and strength in front, and as usual, his fast and tricky moves were just much for any defender on the opposing side. Nevertheless, surprisingly, tapings seemed to be his main problem.
A few minutes after Henry had scored a fourth goal for Barcelona, Samuel Eto’o squared the ball into the danger zone, offering his argentine mate the option of taping the ball into the net, but Messi placed the shot wide.
He couldn’t end his game with a mistake, thus shortly after, he organized a super one-two with his men, leaving him with the easiest of chances. Finding himself one-on-one with Casillas, Messi even had the time to trick the stopper before sweeping the ball into the back of the net. It was then a 5th goal for Barcelona, his second of the night, and his 6th goal in three appearances against Real Madrid since October 18, 2006;
Finally, 6-2 the game ended, and there was no way Lionel Messi’s share in the game was going to be ignored by any Madrid fan.
Barcelona’s dream of winning the title is now highly expected to come true, and their goal scoring abilities is certainly a wonder.
So, eventually, the surprise of the game was the final score, and therefore, it is clear, that Ramos was wrong to ignore Lionel’s presence in the game.
In the end, one could think that when the Madrid coach said: “I know Barcelona perfectly…†perhaps he should have made the statement, referring to the Catalans’ flood of goals, which is currently destroying everyone on its way.
Well, what can Barcelona fans say now, if not to wish better luck to Real next time; but it is a different story for Messi fans though, for they can then be happy that on Saturday night, a great lesson was learnt.
