International Friendly Half-Time Score: Russia 1-1 Argentina
Diego Maradona’s players haven’t really managed to take their advantages so far in the first half of their friendly match against Russia, and the half-time score remains 1-1.
Unexpectedly, Messi was sidelined by the Albicelestes coach, but despite his absence, Aguero could have opened the scoring for the Argentines in 13′ minutes when Milito fed him with a precious ball, but the Atletico Madrid strker missed the target.
Four minutes later, Igor Semshov finally placed Russia in front with a nice shot from the tight angle. 1-0 was the score line.
Argentina then tried to respond with a set of attacks, and indeed they could have find themselves back in the game after 39 minutes, when Kun Aguero once again was given glorious chance; but his disappointing shot failed to beat the Russian keeper.
The moment of celebration finally came late in the first 45 minutes, when Aguerro paid his dues with a brilliant shot from around 20 yards, thanks to a sloppy defence from Guus Hiddink’s side.
1-1 is the score line at half time, and both Maradona and Hiddink will have a lot of talking to do behind the scenes.
