International Friendly Full Time Result: Russia 2-3 Argentina
11 views 12 August 2009Luckily, Argentina have beaten Russia 3-2 in their friendly match at the Lokomotiv Stadium. Maradona’s men were shaking in the first half, but the second half proved to be their precious moment.
Manager Diego Maradona realised that he needed to make a bunch of substitution before getting the right result. Well, unfortunately, Lionel Messi didn’t came-off from the bench, yet, Argentina were still able to fight back Hiddink’s forces.
After having a leveled score line from the first-half, Maradona’s men came back stronger, as substitute Lisandro Lopez put the Argentines in front only 30 seconds in the second-half.
Substitute Jesús Alberto Dátolo then added his name on the scoring sheet after scoring a third goal for the Albicelestes on 58 minutes.
Russia needed a consolation, and at the 78′ minute, Roman Pavlyuchenko tricked the Argentine wall to score his side’s second goal from a free-kick.
After this, no one was able to pull another goal, thus, 3-2 the score ended in favor of the Argentines.
