Inter Milan vs Barcelona: Lionel Messi Can Be Stopped, Says Sneijder

Ahead of his Champions League game, the Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has turned down claims that the Barcelona forward Lionel Messi could not be stopped when having the ball on the pitch. According to Sneijder who is 25, Messi is the best football player at the moment, but he added that Inter Milan will definetely do all they can to prevent the Argentine from destroying them.

Being asked about Lionel Messi, his form and his talent, this is what Sneijder told the press ahead of the Inter Milan – Barcelona clash:

“Well, yes, I have heard about Messi, and I think at the moment he is the best player in the world. But of course there is a way to stop him on the pitch. Or why not? We will find out next week in the Champions League.”

Inter Milan and Barcelona meet tonight at the San Siro in the first leg of their semifinal clash, and Lionel Messi will be hoping to continue what he began when he scored four goals in 88 minutes in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
