Spanish club Barcelona is reportedly to offer their most valuable asset – Lionel Messi – with a lifetime contract.

According to AS, the club’s management wishes to see Messi wearing Barcelona’s costume for the rest of his football career. And despite his contract won’t be end until 2016, President Sandro Rosell already has plan to keep him by renewing Messi’s contract. It has been said that Barcelona’s management arranged a meeting to discuss about the matter since last month, and that the board of directors have agreed that the Argentina player should wear Barcelona’s costume until he retires.

The situation is clearly contradicted to Ronaldo’s career in Real Madrid, where he had a bit of problem with renewing a contract with the club.

Barcelona keep on creating a positive result in the Spanish league competition. After a 5-1 victory over Sociedad, they recorded another victory against Osasuna last Sunday.

The host scored the opening goal, and the panicked Barcelona finally able to equalized the point in minute 76th through Lionel Messi. Unfortunately, a controversy came along with the goal. The replay showed that Alexis Sanchez was a bit in an offside position before he passed the ball over to Messi who then ended it with a goal. Osasuna then had to play with 10 men after Francisco Punal received a red card for protesting the ref’s decision.

10 minutes before the match ended, Barcelona scored their second that also became the winning goal for the team. Again, the goal came through Lionel Messi.

Barcelona ended the first league match with a sweet 5-1 victory over Real Sociedad. This will be a good start for Tito Vilanova’s squad, as they lead 2 points in the standings after their rival Real Madrid finished their first with a 1-1 draw against Valencia.

Lionel Messi scored 2 goals in the match, while David Villa made his opening match after months of injury by contributing one goal.

After a series of pre-season’s friendly match with Barcelona, Lionel Messi joined his national team Argentina for a friendly against German. They will  be playing today at Frankfurt, Germany.

The team were seen having training session last Monday at public training session in Neu-Isenburg , Frankfurt.

This is no doubt the best pre-season tour for Lionel Messi during his career with Barcelona. The Argentinian striker has collected total 5 goals so far, ended the friendly match tour with the last goal against Dinamo Bucharest, last Saturday.

Messi’s impressive performance has shown early in the friendly match tour. He did miss the friendly against Hamburg due to small injury, however, he played for 90 minutes in the next match against Raja Casablanca. On the game, Barcelona won 8-0 , while Messi  scored a hat-trick.

The next match against Paris Saint-Germain and Dinamo Bucharest, Messi also scored one goal each.

The only time he missed scoring was against Manchester United, where Barcelona finally won through a penalty shootout.  But he still managed to show a persistent fight during the match.

Overall, based on his performance in all pre-season matches, it seems that he has no problem at all dealing with the new coach , Tito Vilanova, and that he will keep on shining on the pitch.

The season hasn’t even started yet, but Lionel Messi has already shown an impressive performance with his team during the pre-season tour. Infact, it was his best pre-season since joining Barcelona. With 1 goal against Dinamo Bucharest in last Saturday, Barcelona closed the friendly match tour with a 2-0 victory, adding total 5 goals on Messi’s pre-season record.

Against Manchester United in yesterday’s friendly match, Barcelona won with the result of 2-0. The victory came through a penalty shootout, where Nani and Ashley Young as ManUtd executioner, failed to execute the shot. Meanwhile, Gerard Pique and Xavi succeeded and scored 2 goals for Barcelona.

Barcelona have won their third friendly match in pre-season, with a 6-3 result over host Paris Saint-German at Parc des Princes. Both club had to end the game through a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw until the extra 30 minute time.

Lionel Messi was seen training on the pitch one day after the friendly match against Hamburg SC. He didn’t join the team and trained separate from others, accompanied with one of the coach staff.

The training includes running, and working with the ball kick.

Messi got his calf injury during earlier training session. Hamburg SV management is reported to be furious about the incident, knowing that Messi won’t be playing on the match. It was understandable since they already paid around €1,2 million for Barcelona, including Messi. And due to the absence of the striker, Barcelona had to return €400,000 of the amount as a penalty.

Lionel Messi had a calf injury  last Monday (23/7) during his training session. The injury has made him failed to appear on Barcelona’s friendly match against German team, Hamburg SV on the next day. The problem is, Messi’s presence was included in the contract with Hamburg SV, therefore by him being off the game has made Barcelona to lose € 400,000 from the payment contract.

On the friendly match, Barcelona won with 2-1 through Dani Alves and Gerard Deulofe’s goal. And next Saturday, Barcelona is scheduled to play another friendly match against Moroccon club, Raja Club Athletic. At that time, new coach Tito Vilanova hoped that Messi will already recover from his injury and ready to join the team.

During this summer, Barcelona will be playing in 5 friendly matches. From all 5 matches, Barcelona is reported to received around €6 million.
