Strangely, the Real Madrid and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has declared Barcelona’s Lionel Messi as the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or award later this year, in December.

According to Ronaldo, Lionel Messi will not only win the award, but also will he deserve it clearly, following Messi’s stunning records with Barcelona last season; scoring 38 goals, and making 18 assists in only 51 games.

“Lionel Messi is the favorite,” revealed the current title holder Cristiano Ronaldo.

“He won the Champions League, the Primera Liga title. Why not him? If he wins it, he will have deserved it.”
