Barcelona V Real Madrid: El Clasico Report â€“ Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is known as one of El ClÃ¡sicoâ€™s heroes. Indeed, Lionel Messi has been able to score 6 goals in his 4 last appearances against giants Real Madrid, despite struggling with a few injuries on certain occasions.

One of Lionel Messiâ€™s greatest achievements in his career came in one of his games against Real Madrid. That particular time around, El Clasico was being played at the Camp Nou, and having lost 2-0 at the Bernabeu Stadium several months before, Barcelona needed a positive result so as to win on head-to-head against rivals Real.

Barcelona were actually losing by 3 goals to 2 in the last minutes of the game with the two goals coming from the Argentine Messi. Everyone thought that things were totally over for the Catalans, but about a minute from time, the inspirational winger Lionel Messi made a curling shot which beat Real Madridâ€™s Iker Casillas to grab the equalizer and make his first hat-trick for his side.

In the end, Barcelona didnâ€™t get a victory, but at least, they had made something memorable.

Will Lionel Messi be able to score again against Real Madrid again this weekend? One might wonder, but in any case, no one can deny the fact that he deserves to shine again on Sunday in El Clasico, as he possesses the strongest qualities to threaten the Castellans.

Lionel Messi is set to come on for Barcelona, having been healed from an injury that had kept him on the bench during Barcaâ€™s 2-0 win against Inter Milan in midweek in the Champions League.

Perhaps, El Clasico will not be a battle between him and Cristiano Ronaldo like many believed it was going to be before the 2009 UEFA Champions League final in Rome; but certainly, it might be a â€œClash of Titansâ€ â€“ in which Lionel Messi will give his all to steal the spotlights on another occasion.
