Seydou Keita, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Lionel Messi were all on fire for FC Barcelona on Sunday evening, when the defending league champions extended their lead at the top of the La Liga table to 3 points.

After scoring only a single goal in 180 minutes, Barcelona came back at their best, netting 6 goals in a little bit less than 90 minutes. Oh yes… the Catalans started the game much more aggressively than they usually do, and less than four minutes into the game, the Zaragoza keeper had to make some efforts to keep his side alive.

Lionel Messi’s shot from a corner almost crossed the goal line, but Juan Pablo Carrizo was well placed to catch the ball.

Two minutes later, Messi had another glorious chance to give Barcelona the lead, but surprisingly, he stroke wide from only 6 yards out.

The keeper Carrizo kept preventing Messi and Barcelona from breaking the deadlock, but he could only boast of his success at the Camp Nou for 25 minutes, when afterward, a wonderful cross from the Argentine kid Lionel Messi allowed the Malian Seydou Keita to head the ball home for the opener.

Ibrahimovic then made it 2-0 in the 29th minute, but as he thought he had scored a double 7 minutes later, the assistant referee’s flag was raised for offside. Five minutes before the break, Ibra fed Keita with a real trough ball only for Seydou to score the third goal for his side from close range.

The second half was not less entertaining. Four minutes after the break, Messi made a strong shot which missed target after hitting Carrizo. The Barcelona number 10 forward pressed on again three minutes later, forcing Carrizo to come out from his goal area trough a dubious chip, and therefore allowing the Swede Zlatan to send the ball at the back of the net, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside for the second time in the match.

Ibrahimovic eventually got the fourth goal for his side and his second of the day, before Carrizo again denied Messi’s efforts in the 68 minutes.

9 minutes later, Zaragoza got a consolation, but there was more to come from Pep Guardiola’s army. Lionel Messi finally responded with a nice chip over Carrizo which provided him his first goal of the night, and the fifth for the league leaders.

Keita then wrapped things up with 5 minutes to go, making it his first hat-trick for the Catalans, and sealing Barcelona’s 3 points lead at the top of the La Liga table.
