Lionel Messi's Penalty Against Mallorca
Barcelona got the lead through Pedro who brilliantly sent the ball at the back of the net thanks to an Ibrahimovic through ball after 10 minutes, but Mallorca equalized at the 19th minute.
Pedro then went on to score another goal after Henry and Busquet had been unable to beat the keeper in the 40th minute.
Just minutes before the break, Pedro’s free-kick reached Sergio Busquet who headed the ball towards Thierry Henry, only for the French international to score the third goal of the night for the Catalans.
In the second half, Pedro went off for Lionel Messi. After 5 minutes on the field, the Argentina was unstoppable as usual, and his free kick almost helped Ibrahimovic to get on the scoring sheet on 58 minutes, but Ibra’s header went just wide.
At the 86th minute, the Swedish man was brought down inside the danger zone, and Lionel Messi wonderfully converted the ball from the penalty spot to make the score 4-1.
The game couldn’t have ended without a consolation goal from the visitors, and seconds before the final moment, Mallorca scored their second of the day through Alhassane Keita reduce the home side’s lead in the end.
Barcelona still occupy the first place in the La Liga table however, but they do so with only a point ahead of Real Madrid who won 3-2 against city rivals Atletico Madrid.
