Barcelona 4-0 Racing Santander: Four Goals, But No Lionel Messi
In spite of the amusing display put on by Barcelona at the weekend in their 4-0 crushing victory over Racing Santander, the winger Lionel Messi didn’t succeed in expanding his tally in La Liga’s top scoring chart.
Messi did not find the back of the net on Saturday evening, but it is however true that his contribution to Barcelona’s win was excellent. Messi’s instrumental presence was partly the reason of Barcelona’s 5-point lead preservation at the top of La Liga.
Messi got a few shots on goal in the game which were saved by the Racing Santander goalkeeper Fabio Coltorti, but all in all, goals from Iniesta, Thierry Henry (free-kick), Rafael Marquez (superb free-kick), and Tiago (assisted by Messi) were enough to give Barcelona 3 comfortable points.
