Arserne Wenger warns Barcelona to leave Fabregas alone – or they will bid for Messi
The Spanish Giants FC Barcelona have recently been chasing the Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, and in fact, this is not very pleasent to the Arsenal managing board, especially not to the coach himself, Arsene Wenger.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger publicly revealed that if Barcelona kept pursuing his playmaker Cesc Frabegas, then Arsenal will also bid for Lionel Messi.
Of course, neither Fabregas nor Messi is likely to leave his club, and this what the French manager made very clear in a meeting with the press.
“I’ve made a bid for Messi and nobody speaks about it. It is the same [with Cesc Fabregas].
“How can people think we will sell Fabregas now one day before the championship starts? We are not in a weak financial position and we don’t need to sell anybody.
“He is committed to the club and he has told me that. We cannot master the noises coming out of Spain.
“This is his sixth year [at Arsenal], and what he wants is to win trophies for the club.”
Arsene Wenger also went on to talk about his club’s chances of winning the English Premier League title.
“At the start we race for the top spot, but after, the minimal target is the top four. But you don’t start the season thinking like that.
“Maybe some of our fans have the fear we’ll drop out of the top four. That’s guided by fear and not objective assessment of our performances.”
“[Last season] After 14 games we had lost five and that was too many.
“At the moment, nobody looks at us as a potential fighter for the championship, but I believe we have to keep serene, not put unneeded pressure on our shoulders and focus on how we want to play.”
