Argentina vs Nigeria: I Will Mark Out Lionel Messi At World Cup, Says Kaita

Lionel Messi, ArgentinaThe Nigerian football player Sani Kaita has defied Argentina ace Lionel Messi by declaring that he will mark out the reigning World Player of the Year at the 2010 World Cup when both country meet in South Africa.

In an interview with journalists, this is what the Nigerian Kaita affirmed:

“Twice, I have clashed with Lionel Messi and I want to say that on these two occasions, I was able to make him less effective for his Argentine football team.

“At the Under-20 World Youth Championship in Holland, he could not do much except the two penalty kicks that he scored against us and in China (in the competition).

“At the Beijing Olympics final, I kept him locked until Aguero scored the lone goal that won the match.

“I know how to mark him and I would do just that when we meet again at the senior FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

“He is good, very fast on the ball and full of tricks but he is not entirely invincible, and I am sure he would be afraid to face me again after what I did to him in the two previous occasions.

“Messi and his Argentina mates would discover this time round that they cannot be three times lucky against us Nigeria.

“Argentina will be tough in South Africa but I think that we have what it takes to beat them and qualify from our group. We shall not be in South Africa to make up the numbers but to make our mark.”
