Joan Laporta – FC Barcelona’s president – has declared that the news which will let fans know that Lionel Messi has already renewed his contract, will soon be publicized.

Speaking to the press, this is what the club’s president said:

“The new agreement for Messi has been expected for some time. Soon there will be an official statement.”

It said that Messi’s new contract will make him stay at the club until 2016, and his buyout clause is expected to increase to 250 million euros.
