2 Goals From Lionel Messi, Barcelona Grabs a 4-2 Win Over Real Betis (15 January 2012)
Striker Lionel Messi helped to score 2 goals in Barcelona’s 4-2 victory over Real Betis last night. With the victory, Barcelona now stands in second place with 41 points, 5 points away from first rank Real Madrid.
Barcelona scored the first goal through Xavi when the match was only went for 10 minutes. The goal came from Cesc Fabregas rebound ball. 2 minutes later, Messi doubled the score with his left foot, using Sanchez’s bait.
The visitors wouldn’t give up and managed to scored their first in minute 32nd.
On the second half, the score changed to 2-2, with a goal from Roque Santa Cruz. Fortunately for Betis, one of the player, Mario received their second yellow in minute 70th for fouling Messi. With 10 men, it’s difficult for Betis to compete with Barcelona who prefers tiki-taka style.
It took 5 minutes for Barca to lead the score board, through Alexis Sanchez goal. And 5 minutes before the match ended, the host once again got the advantage as the ref award them with a penalty, following Jose Antonio Ramirez handsball. Lionel Messi as the executor, succeeded in scoring the last goal for the team. 4-2 for Barcelona victory.
